However, there will be some parts in which we will feel some repetitiveness, making the experience somewhat tedious if we decide to play the title in one sitting.
From invisible walls to mechanisms that we will have to activate remotely, the title will offer us a multitude of puzzles, which will make us stop to think about what to do to continue our journey. Of course, there will be enemies that we will have to attack in a specific way to be able to harm them, and that is one of the many riddles that the game proposes. This Momodora installment could be classified as a classic metroidvania, with refined controls with respect to the previous installments that are now the sea of fluids, being able to attack enemies both from a distance with our bow and melee. Speaking of the characters, although the story is not the main focus of the game, we will meet a multitude of the most diverse NPCs, who will offer us in their conversations with them both cryptic information about events that could happen in future installments and fun conversations, all localized to a perfect Castilian, something strange for such small caliber titles. Although, as you may have been able to intuit, the story carries some somewhat dark tints, the truth is that the design of the characters serves as a juxtaposition to this fact, since they all have a fairly cheerful and striking aesthetic (with some exceptions, of course). In this place is a village called Lun, from where a young priestess called Kaho comes from, whom we will control on her journey against time to get an audience with the queen and save her people before it is too late. The story of this title takes us to a cursed land in full decline, where evil does not stop spreading. As Kyle mentioned in his own review, the use of more muted colors really helps to drive the atmosphere home. Momodora is a beautiful game, with top-notch pixel art that properly portrays a beautiful, yet cursed landscape.
